Music

We are currently advertising for a new organist/musician. If you are interested in joining us, please see this advert on the Edinburgh Society of Organists.

Music is an integral part of our worship, and we aim to use a variety of musical styles during our services. Our Sunday service is a Sung Eucharist, where we join in the Eucharistic liturgy with our singing in words used by christians throughout the centuries.

The choir sings at services at St. Mark’s roughly once a month as well as at special services such as the Christmas Carol Service, Midnight Eucharist, Feast of Dedication.

Music varies from traditional plainsong and renaissance motets to more modern settings by composers such as John Rutter and Bob Chilcott as well as leading the congregation in singing of hymns and music for the Eucharist.

We are always keen to welcome new singers whatever their experience and anyone interested should speak to our rector for more information.
